The Grand Exchange Report
Here at RSGoldPot, we aim to arm you with necessary understanding, which will help you on your journey to becoming The Overlord of Orange. This does not mean; however, that we will give you everything on a silver platter, it would almost be like achieving something without effort, which is something we do NOT stand for. Instead, we will try to point you in the right direction, not in the form of tips, but in mindset you should have. Hopefully, this Grand Exchange Report will help you to evaluate the new things Jagex introduces into the game, figuring out how the Grand Exchange market is going to change as a result.
First of all, we have compiled a table of the best-selling items over the last 7 days and 6 months. Then, we compared the rank difference between that item over six months and the last week. We will try to retrospectively explain why the biggest swings happened. We hope that this will show you how to think about your efforts to make gold in-game in relation to what is coming up in Gielinor. Without further adieu, here’s the table:

Four out purposes, only big increases are relevant, because we are trying to show you how in-game events can influence The Grand Exchange. Let’s sum up the bigger swings first. The biggest increase in demand was experienced by Brilliant Energy, it rose up into the 19th place from 28th. Second biggest, at +5, were Water Runes and Incandescent Energy. Air and Fire Runes more or less kept their spots, while Earth Rune ranked 4 places above its average over the last 6 months.
How can this be explained? Quite easily, in fact. From the 6th to 9th of May, May Weekends included huge buffs to Divination and Runecrafting. Players took the opportunity to train these skills easier, resulting in increased flow of the required materials. Some bought Energy to level faster, some sold Energy to take advantage of increased demand or to load off their extra materials. The same is true for Runes too.
How can you take advantage of this? After a special event is announced, look at the things that are being promoted, figure out which items and materials will be necessary and try to stock up on them before prices rise. Once the event started, the increased demand will mean that you will have no trouble selling your surplus stock. Hopefully, supply doesn’t outweigh demand and prices are higher than they were when you bought the items.
Hopefully, we managed to show you how to look at statistics to get a read on possible market movements in the future. We wish you insight and opportunistically cold business instincts, and we will see you in The Grand Exchange.
