Boss Fight Overview – Twin Furies

The somewhat recently released dungeon, God Wars 2, otherwise known as The Heart is a great place to farm while waiting for your Grand Exchange items to sell. Today, we would like to give you a brief guide to the Twin Furies fight. We won’t flood you with tons of information because we believe that figuring out how to overcome a challenge yourself is the most fun way to play RuneScape.

The Twin Furies, Nymora, the Vengeful and Avaryss the Unceasing are Avernic demon sisters. At some point, they had a third sister; however, she was slain by Gregorovic. They serve Zamorak while looking for their sister’s killer in the meanwhile.

First of all, you will have to find your way to The Heart. The best way to do it is using The Heart teleport, which can be easily bought on the Grand Exchange. It isn’t very expensive either.

If you want to start fighting these demons, you will have to have at least 80 Ranged but first, as with all bosses in the God Wars 2 Dungeon, you will have to achieve 40 kill count. The best way to do it is in the north-western corner of the dungeon. Before that, you should know that you can trade in reputation gained in the dungeon to increase drop rates. You should REALLY do that whenever possible as the kills will get more rewarding (duh!).

Avaryss and Nymora work in tandem to try and kill you, while sharing their health pool. Avaryss focuses on melee, while Nymora prefers ranged attacks. They use several abilities, spaced out between auto-attacks. While they are used in the same order every time, they can start from a different one on different fight attempts.

The first ability you should concern yourself with should be Avaryss’ Charge. She will get to a wall and charge at you in a straight line. If you get caught, she will stun you and deal 2000 melee damage. This ability is not hard to dodge at all, you shouldn’t have any problems if you pay attention to her position at all times.

The second ability to concern yourself with is Ceiling collapse. Nymora will fly up to the ceiling and smash it. Rocks will fall all over the area, except for the small place under Nymora herself. You should go there to dodge the damage while attacking Avaryss, as Nymora will become untargetable at this time.

The last ability is Channeled bomb. Both Nymora and Avaryss will start channeling their powers in the middle of the map. While channeling, they will take increased damage, so you might consider popping your cooldowns to deal more damage to them. While they channel, the outer ring will light on fire, which will deal a lot of damage to anyone caught in it. They’ll also send small fire blasts but the damage isn’t very high.

The good old rule of thumb for PvM, which says, “Fire is bad, AoE is bad, don’t stand in it” should be followed while fighting Nymora and Avaryss. If you do that while dodging charge as well, you stand a good chance to defeat the demons. Especially if you take the time to figure out your favorite strategy to use and buy any items that would help it. Now, go do some demon-killing, you glorious badass!
