What Have you missed during the weekend?
Hello there, our fellow RuneScaper! Were you too busy enjoying the spring to play RuneScape this weekend? While We shall have to try and not judge you too harshly for this heresy, as real-life is a viable place to be in. Or so our Mothers used to tell us. We still prefer Gielinor, though.
If you did miss out on the game this weekend, we have some things to tell you now, don’t we? First of all, the first of the themed May Weekends passed, with players trying to take advantage of the various boosts and bonuses. While going AFK is never cool, you’ve been punished enough by falling behind your fellow citizens of Gielinor, so we will drop the subject for now.
This past weekend, the two most sought after boosts for RuneScape took players to the Runespan and Sophanem. While there were many other boosts like Divination springs lasting twice as long or Fishing spots moving half as often, to name a couple, players decided that their time was best spent elsewhere. They were mostly skilling Runecrafting in Runespan or trying to farm the elusive Sceptre of the Gods in the Pyramid Plunder mini-game, which could be found in Sophanem.
While many people spent time in Runespan and surely leveled their skill considerably, everyone should remember that you have to actually leave Runespan and turn in the points for the Weekend boost to apply. If it doesn’t work properly for you, here you go, you now know why.
The other favored activity of this season required the blessing of RNGesus, as some Pyramid Plunder farmers had the Sceptre of the Gods drop immediately and some farmed for hours and hours to no avail. While the jury is out on whether those lucky ones sacrificed their mice to RNGesus or just twerked at night while howling at the moon, facing the direction of the real Pyramids, we still have to congratulate them. Nobody likes a sore loser.
Whatever you were doing this weekend, be it enjoying spring with your friends or hunting that Sceptre with reckless abandon, we hope that you had plenty of fun. Hopefully, you won’t miss the next May Weekend or achieve your goals if you do play at that time. We will be there to tell you what you missed if you do.
